Richard Sennett's Craftsman Theory

The Craftsman Theory by Richard Sennett

Richard Sennett observes society and daily life, he then comments on morality.

The topic of ‘the craftsman’ is widely explored in his new book. He goes on to explain that everyone needs a hobby or a craft that they can enjoy and benefit from. Even everyday tasks that are overlooked like cooking, caring for children, etc. are crafts and people feel deep satisfaction when they are perfected.
Craftsmanship relies on dedication and it’s a basic human need. He also argues that the physical making involved in a craft is a necessary part of being human. I agree that everyone needs a craft of some sort that enables them to be successful and bring a sense of fulfillment.
